The Expertise filter is an optional filter that helps students find career advisors based on their area of expertise, such as Consulting, Finance, Luxury or Sustainability.
Students can search or select one expertise. They then see the advisors and appointment slots linked to that expertise.
Before you start
Make sure that:
- The Appointments module is activated for your Career Center and you have at least one active advisor.
- Expertises can be configured only by a super admin.
1. Create your expertise tags
In the back office, open the Appointments module and select the expertise management option from the … menu.
Create one tag for each area of expertise you want students to filter by.
Examples:
- Consulting
- Finance
- Entrepreneurship
- Sustainability
- Luxury
2. Link expertises to advisors
Open the advisor creation or edit page.
In the Expertises field, select all areas that apply to the advisor, then save the advisor.
An advisor can have several expertises.
3. Check the advisor setup
The Expertise filter is displayed to students only when:
- At least one expertise has been created.
- The expertise is linked to at least one active advisor.
The advisor must also have available appointment types or slots for students to see relevant results.
What students see
The Expertise filter appears as the fourth filter in the Appointments module when it is active.
Students can:
- Open the Appointments module.
- Search or select one expertise.
- Combine the Expertise filter with the existing filters.
- View matching advisors and appointment slots.
Expertise tags are also displayed on advisor cards and on the advisor detail page.
If no results are available
If no advisor or appointment slot matches the selected expertise, students see an empty state.
Check that:
- The expertise tag is correctly linked to an active advisor.
- The advisor has available appointment slots.
- The appointment type is active.
- The student’s other selected filters are not excluding the advisor.
